Early Childhood Program (ECP)

Early Childhood Program (ECP)

At KTI Early Childhood Program we see each child as a unique and precious gift entrusted to our care. We offer a warm, creative, loving environment - a home away from home - where children spend their days learning, exploring, and growing. Licensed by the Office for Children and Family Services (OCFS) and accredited by the National Association of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), we create a self-rewarding, joyous, and non-competitive atmosphere where individuality is nurtured and where program activities help children learn more about Jewish heritage, values, and traditions through active learning.

We believe that. . .

  • Loving, trusting, and respecting each child fosters their love, trust, and respect for others
  • A safe and happy environment promotes a natural curiosity and desire to learn
  • Each child has an innate inquisitiveness and thirst for knowledge
  • Each child can and should be guided to a positive self-image
  • Quality teachers and specialists are the keys to weaving age-appropriate academic goals
  • Children deserve to have teachers whose values enable them to be excellent role models
  • Home is the fulcrum of a child's development. We strive to support and complement the family in order to promote those bonds.

And most importantly. . . play is the work of children!

We share with children and their families the joys of Jewish culture. We believe that our children are a part of a web of interconnected relationships, and we encourage open dialogue between families and our entire KTI community.

Parent-Child Program - cancelled due to Pandemic

This program provides a warm, safe setting where parent and child develop new relationships with peers. Your children will nurture their curiosity through play, stories, songs, crafts and a snack. Guided by an early childhood teacher and an assistant, toddlers can explore separation while their parents participate in discussions about topics of interest and concern. Children should be 12-21 months by October. Caregivers are welcome.

  • Thursday mornings, 9:00am - 10:15am
  • October – May

3s & 4s After School Activities

Vacation Camps - Cancelled due to Pandemic

For those who need your children to be engaged during vacation times, we offer two levels of vacation camp during most school vacations.

Interim Programs: - Cancelled due to Pandemic

  •  SAIL INTO SUMMER - Sail Into Summer is for children graduating a 3's program.  Your child will have fun participating in activities such as art, nature crafts, stories, cooking, sing-a-longs, games, sports and water play.

  •  LET'S PRETEND - Let's Pretend is for children graduating a 2's program.  This program encourages your child's imagination, social interaction and self expression through stories, mask-making projects, games and songs.  Your child will discover the freedom, fun and creativity in make-believe.

Summer Program: Mini Fish - Cancelled due to Pandemic, Returning Summer 2022

Designed for children who will be entering our 2s and 3s preschool classes in the fall. Little ones will enjoy our beautiful, fenced-in property complete with play equipment, picnic tables, and a shade tent. They will be able to climb, ride and frolic through a developmentally appropriate water park complete with their own “mini-car wash”. Happily, they will experience the friendship of their peers, as well as the care and nurturing of our teachers and counselors. In case of inclement weather, we have air-conditioned classrooms and a gross motor room all set up! Storytime, singing, nature, gardening, and crafts round out this lovely first camp experience. The added bonus is that the Mini-Fish camp is a great opportunity for your child to transition to the school year program.
