Social Action

Our community’s commitment to Tikkun Olam begins in our ECP and continues well into teens, empty nesters, and our seniors.  Some of the social action efforts we engage in are listed below:

Food Insecurity

• KTI Soup Kitchen at St. Peter's Episcopal Church 

• Food2GrowOn and Food Pantry

At-Risk Communities

• Interfaith Baby Shower

• Kids' Closet

• Ongoing Clothing Drive Shed (back/parking lot side of sanctuary building)

Supporting Congregants (Hesed)

• Baskets and shiva calls to bereaved families  (Shlosheem calls after initial mourning period has ended)

• Get well notes to members when someone has extended suffering

• Visits for those sick or recovering in local hospitals (Greenwich, Rye, White Plains, Port Chester, Rye Brook)

• Visits and baskets for new members and babies

Jewish Organizations and Israel

• IDF Support

• JTeen

Environmental Stewardship

• Port Chester Community Gardens

• KTI Mitzvah Madness 

• A day of Tikkun Olam which involves a mixture of all of the above!
